Born and bred in Brentford, Neil Boia has been a lifelong supporter of the Bees. An active runner and cyclist, Neil has now committed to funding raising for the Trust during the 2023/24 season and beyond.

Hi Neil, would you tell us a bit about yourself.

I’m a mamil (middle aged man in lycra)…

What inspired you to fundraise on behalf of Brentford FC Community Sports Trust?

It’s always good to support the local community, even if you don’t live there! I was born in Brentford and lived in Osterley for most of my life, so the Brentford area is home from home for me. Brentford FC Community Sports Trust supports the local community in so many positive ways and that’s plenty of inspiration for me to support their cause (plus I love the Bees).

Have you done any fundraising challenges before? If so what event(s)?

I’ve run a couple of marathons and completed a number of cycling sportives. Looking at a gravel ride for my next challenge and hopefully some fund-raising to go along with it for BFCCST.

What are you most looking forward to as a fundraiser for the Trust?

Keeping active with a bit more purpose. Always good to have a cause greater than your personal endeavours to keep you going and motivated. Also looking forward to wearing my Brentford FC cycling jersey whenever I can!

Do you have any advice for others thinking about fundraising for the Trust?

All Brentford fans should support the Trust, either as a fund raiser or by donating. Just think of an activity, event or challenge, get some friends to join you and set up a fundraising page on the Trust website. It’s easy, will give you something to work towards and more importantly will help others in need.

What message do you have for people who are supporting you by donating?

Thanks to all who have donated, especially Fulham and QPR fans who I’m sure will donate generously!
