On Saturday the Trust hosted the fourth edition of our Inclusive Football events with Leicester City in the Community.
Whilst the Bees and Foxes played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday afternoon, the two Club’s Community Organisations united to host an inclusive football event in the morning at Goals Gillette Corner.
Brentford FC Community Sports Trust were represented by Supported Learning Students from Richmond and West Thames Colleges, and Leicester City in the Community fielded a group from their mental wellbeing programme.
Each organisation split their participants into two teams to play round-robin style 5-a-side friendly matches before everyone came together to play a large group match at the end.
After the games, the group travelled to the Gtech Community Stadium to watch the Premier League clash that ended level.
Chris Tribe, Disability Projects Manager at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust said, “This event highlighted the evolving partnership between BFC CST and LCitC, and demonstrated the power of football in bringing together under-represented groups to participate in a thoroughly enjoyable experience. It was fantastic to see the groups competing against and socialising with each other, both on the pitch and at the stadium afterwards.”
